THE STARFIRE WAY

The Starfire Way creates opportunities for students to learn through discovery by solving problems. Starfire programs are highly interactive and team-based and focused on learning by doing. Starfire students learn 21st century thinking with professional coaching from fun & passionate mathematicians, scientists, engineers, programmers, design thinkers, and artists.

Our students develop a deep conceptual understanding of math, coding, engineering, mathematical thinking, and problem solving which gives them the inner confidence to persist and persevere to solve unfamiliar and challenging problems.

We engage our students in class discussion about the habits of mind and behaviors that we value at Starfire. Our classrooms are fun, emotionally and intellectually safe, and supportive learning environments. Starfire teachers inspire intellectual and personal growth in their students. WHAT PARENTS HAVE TO SAY

"I have 3 kids and my youngest (now in 4th grade at Nixon) took your class this semester.  He and we loved it!  He really enjoyed being challenged and working on the problems, and my husband and I enjoyed discussing them with him afterwards.  He told me math class makes him sweat and when I asked why he said because sometimes he runs in a circle when he gets the answers because it's exciting.”

"My son Trevor responds well to the Electrical engineering class. He did one fall trimester in the fall at Oak Knoll. Shwetha was his teacher for the last few classes and we really like HER! I am seriously looking for him to have a zoom type program to keep him engaged so that I may focus on my work, and Starfire helps!"

"I signed up Thomas to the Scratch Level 2 class on Wednesdays. He loves it! He has been trying to do a lot of programming on his own between classes. He is now asking for more!"

"Ryan had so much fun and you can tell as there were lots of giggles going on.  After the class, Ryan would bring the ipad and show me the program that he worked on during class and giggles go on again."

"I just want to say thank you for the wonderful sessions this summer! Joshua has learnt a lot and especially had so much fun in the classes!"

"My son, Jasper, loves the electrical engineering class. He just finished level 2 and would register for level 3 if it were offered."

"Hanna has been a part of Scratch coding and Math with Starfire and loves them both! My elder daughter is enrolled in computational thinking and enjoys the classes too."
